DE HAVILLAND 98 MOSQUITO
Mosquito FB.Mk VI Series 2 (Fighter-bomber/Intruder) circa 1944

The FB.Mark VI was developed from the NF Mark II but with provisions for
a heavier bomb load, 50 or 100gal drop tanks and wing racks for rockets,
which became available with the "series 2" aircraft from '44 onwards. This
variant was also selected for service with the RAF Coastal Command as an
anti-shipping strike fighter and was employed almost exclusively against
enemy vessels.
This versatile FB.Mk VI was especially effective as a ground attack type
aircraft, used in low-level rocket and straffing raids throughout Europe.
With total production of 2,584 at wars end, more than any other Mark.
